Nominate Youngstown to win $20k during "Meet Me at the Park" Grant

(March 29, 2017) - The National Recreation and Park Association is collaborating with corporate sponsors to revitalize parks across the country by sponsoring the "Meet Me at the Park" grant. The city that receives the most nominations between April 1st and April 30th will receive $20k toward improving a local park. Nominate Youngstown at NRPA.org/BeInspired and you will be entered into a drawing for a tablet.

Green Youngstown has Moved

(January 18, 2017) - Green Youngstown is now located within Community Planning and Economic Development, at 20 W. Federal Place, Suite 602.

Company Announces Plans for $20 Million Beverage and Technology Complex

(October 16, 2016) - Joseph Company International has announced the company’s plans to invest $20 million to build a beverage and technology complex in Youngtown, Ohio that will produce the world’s first and only self-chilling beverage can. The project is estimated to create 257 new jobs for the city as well as provide a destination of interest, as the technology will be showcased globally. Complete Press Release

Rev. Lewis Macklin - 2017 Hero/Shero of Health Award Recipient

Rev. Lewis Macklin, Pastor of Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Youngstown, has been selected by the Ohio Commission on Minority Health to receive the 2017 Hero/Shero of Health Award. The award ceremony will be held in Columbus on Tuesday, March 28th, at the Speaker Jo Ann Davidson Theatre. This awards program was designed to recognize those that serve others in a way that contributes to the overall health of minority communities in Ohio. It focuses on the "unsung heros" that work at the grassroots level in minority and ethnic communities to contribute to the narrowing of health disparities. Congratulations, Rev. Macklin!
